Settings in EasyVFR 4

  1. Connect Your Device:
    • Ensure your EasyVFR 4 device is connected to the Wi-Fi network of your traffic receiver.
  2. Access FLARM Settings in EasyVFR 4 app:
    1. Open the FLARM settings in EasyVFR 4.
    2. Tap the Status dot (green/orange/red button at the bottom right) to open the Status card.
    3. Navigate to the Traffic card and scroll down to find [FLARM Butterfly/AIR Connect].
  3. Enable Monitoring:
    1. Activate the [Monitor for FLARM Equipment] option.
    2. Optionally, set the pin code for your receiver. If no pin code is required, use 0000.
    3. Set the IP address of your traffic receiver. Refer to the sections below to find or configure these settings.

 

Important Note: Only One App Can Connect at a Time

Only one app on a device can use a TCP connection to a traffic receiver at any given time. For instance, if EasyVFR 4 is connected, you cannot connect another EFB app simultaneously, and vice versa.

 

Common Default Settings

Air Avionics - AIR Connect and Butterfly

  • Firmware Current Version:
    • IP: 192.168.1.1
    • PORT: 2000 (EasyVFR scans this automatically)
    • Pin code: Not required (set 0000 in EasyVFR)

    • Refer to page 14 of the manual for the IP and how to find or calculate the pin code. (Pin code = device serial number + 3642)

Other Receivers

For other models, follow similar steps. Ensure you have the latest firmware and consult the user manual for specific IP and port settings.

  • Generic Settings:
    • IP: Often '192.168.x.x' or '10.0.x.x' or '1.2.3.4'
    • PORT: Typically 2000
    • Pin code: Usually 0000 or 1234 unless otherwise specified.

 

Lookup the IP Address in Your Android/iOS Wi-Fi Settings

To connect EasyVFR 4 to your traffic receiver over TCP/IP, you need to know the IP address assigned to the receiver. Follow these steps on your device to find it:

On iOS Devices:

  1. Ensure Connection:

    • Make sure your EasyVFR 4 device is connected to the Wi-Fi network of your traffic receiver.
  2. Open Wi-Fi Settings:

    • Go to Settings on your iOS device.
    • Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Find IP Address:

    • Tap the small (i) icon next to your active Wi-Fi connection.
    • Scroll down and note the IP address listed under Router.

On Default Android Devices:

    • Make sure your EasyVFR 4 device is connected to the Wi-Fi network of your traffic receiver.
  2. Open Wi-Fi Settings:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Network & Internet.
    • Tap Internet.
  3. Find IP Address:

    • Tap the settings icon next to your connected Wi-Fi network.
    • Scroll down and note the IP address listed as Gateway or Router.

On Samsung Devices:

  1. Ensure Connection:

    • Make sure your EasyVFR 4 device is connected to the Wi-Fi network of your traffic receiver.
  2. Open Wi-Fi Settings:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Connections.
    • Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Find IP Address:

    • Your currently connected network is visible, with a settings icon on the right side. Tap this settings icon.
    • Select the option Manage Router.
    • This opens a web browser. The IP address can be found in the address bar as the gateway or router IP.
